The STAR method
For "Tell me about a time…" questions, structure your answer so it's clear and concrete. STAR keeps you from rambling.
Situation
Set the scene briefly. Where were you, and what was going on?
Task
What were you responsible for? What needed to happen?
Action
What did you actually do? This is the heart of the answer — use "I", not "we".
Result
How did it turn out? Use a number if you can (sales, time saved, customers).
Question: Tell me about a time you handled a difficult customer.
